APPEARANCE
A bengals coat should be soft and smooth like
a pelt, there are two types of patteerns, spotted and marbled.
Spotted bengals have dark spots on a lighter background, there
are various shapes of spots that are arranged in horizontal
alignment all over the body, or in a random configuration.Rosette
spots comon in the wild leopard are striking in appearance
and can have multishaded light centers and dark shadows.Bengals
are the only purebreds domestic cats that have rosetted spots. The
marble pattern is totally different from the spotted one and
asian leopard cats are not known to have this pattern, marbled
bengals are believed to result from domestic butterfly tabbies
that were used in the bengals early developement. The multishaded
rosettes somehow influanced the marbling characteristics resulting
in the bengals horizontal flowing marble pattern.
